The value of customer service

This week has been a challenging one, just so busy on top of my already FULL life and schedule. I have been almost literally running (most often late!) from activity to activity and errands to appointments. I have hardly been home, just popping in here or there, and when I get home at night, I'm plumb wore out. I HATE that frenzied feeling. It's totally different from the normal fullness of our family rhythm.

But there have been some amazing graces this week, too, especially with customer service. From the bagel guy staying open until I could get there (after closing!), my hairdresser still taking me even though I was dreadfully late, the phone guy working patiently as we figured out a new family plan for several hours, the Starbucks employee finding the last breakfast wrap, to the food truck guy giving me a lemonade while I waited and surprising me with a small dessert just because...I have been blessed by so many this week! It may have been nothing or just a little thing to them, but to this harried mama, it was a balm to my frazzled soul.

Never underestimate the power of a smile, kind attitude, the little extras, and just being a good human to those around you. Seriously thankful for all of these people who truly were a huge gift and consolation to me in a week that felt crazed. They will never know just how much those "little" things meant.

In other news, we have new haircuts and phones, so that's fun! And I'm sure it's horrendous health-wise, but the pistachio cream cold brew from Starbies is really quite tasty. I'm looking forward to a steadier pace and am allowing myself to breathe a sigh of relief to be actually home, catching up a bit, and caring for this space this weekend. Ahhhh....and exhale.

Happy Friday, y'all! May you make time to rest, recharge, refresh, and regroup this weekend, too. 🧡
