A soft entrance

Happy New Year! How is the start of your 2024?

You may know that I am not a fan of resolutions. I AM a fan of personal growth and improvement, with a focus on your efforts rather than the specific outcome (which will lead you there anyway!) For the last many years, I have been choosing a word of the year as a theme to guide my day-to-day decisions and evaluate choices all year long. It gives the flexibility to make adjustments and align instead of feeling you either succeed or fail. Life is about nuance after all, no?

Have you ever done this? What is it??? Comment below and let me know. I'm working on mine currently as it may come as no surprise that I have several LOL.

Words matter, y'all.

I encourage you to have a vision for 2024 and speak life repeatedly into it prayerfully.

"Without a vision the people lose restraint; but happy is the one who follows instruction."

-Proverbs 29:18

"The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit."

-Proverbs 18:21

And if, like me, you are still fully enjoying the holiday season, that's okay, too!

(Hey, I'm Catholic, Christmas starts ON Christmas so I am fully inside my celebration window!) I never liked the idea of a harsh start on January 1st (still a holiday!) and it doesn't feel natural to me this time of year. My sister shared this quote and I love it. It is okay to honor our own intuition and inclinations, and not be a slave to the calendar, seasonal pressure, or social construct. It is okay to be soft and nurturing.

I have started some new things so far these last 5 days, but most are an extension of what I was working on before. And all align with my wellness goals and theme for the year. (More to come on that!) If you have started working on you, go for it. But if you have already fallen off the wagon, or not been able to begin, consider these words below. Join me in coming in soft to this new year!

I look foward to growing with you in 2024 and expanding and revealing all in due course.

Happy New Year!
